Organized byELCIM

Presented by Dr.Fida Afiouni.

Talent on Demand: How to develop the Human Element in the Supply Chain Management was the topic of the training that was held for two consecutive days on Nov 13th & Nov 14th of 2009, at Holiday Inn Hotel, Dunes Center –Verdun. Presented by Dr.Fida Afiouni, Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at the American University of Beirut.

Following the financial crisis in year 2008 &2009, many institutions have gone a long way in improving their important role in Human resources.

This workshop was designed for executives and HR professionals who wish to boost their companies’ performance through the effective management of people. It was based on the idea that the principles of supply chain management, with its emphasis on just-in-time manufacturing can be applied to talent management.

Several key questions were addressed in this workshop such as: what is human capital management and why is it important, keeping in mind aligning people’s skills and behaviors to strategic priorities.

The workshop was tailored to meet the specific needs of SMEs in Lebanon, and to address their main concern of creating value despite the current challenges and the ones ahead. Its design encouraged maximum participants’ input through the use of practical exercises, case studies and discussions. It provided practical ideas, techniques, and principles that enabled participants to develop their people skills and add value to their organizations.
This workshop hosted 15 participants from different companies and positions, and as ELCIM team we are grateful for all the participants that made this event a successful one.
