December 7, 2005The Euro Lebanese Centre for Industrial Modernisation (ELCIM) was launched on Wednesday December 7th, 2005 at the Industrial Research Institute in Hadath.
The launch and the conference were attended by the local press and media, and over 300 representatives of manufacturing SME’s interested in learning about ELCIM’s activities and meeting the experts.
The conference was divided into two parts.
An opening session, with speeches held by Dr Bassam Frenn, Director General of the Industrial Research Institute, Mr. Fady Abboud, President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, His Excellency Mr Patrick Renaud, Ambassador to the European Union in Lebanon, as well as a representative of His Excellency Mr Pierre Gemayel, Minister of Industry;
A panel discussion followed the session where representatives from Kafalat, the Ministry of Industry and ELCIM presented the mission of this project and a detailed plan of action to support SME’s for the years to come.
